Athletic TrainersCertified Athletic Trainers (ATC) are a part of Lake Owen’s medical team consisting of two nurses and two athletic trainers, under the supervision of the Medical Director:
- Assist in the care and prevention of athletic injuries of both gymnasts and action sports participants.
- Refer campers to other medical professionals as needed.
- Document all medical services given and communicate effectively to parents/guardians, medical staff and the camp office regarding campers’ health status.

Camp Nurse- Work as a team with medical staff (2 nurses, 2 athletic trainers and Medical Director)
- Provide care for sick campers (colds, headache, flu)
- Dispense medications
- Make clinic appointments
- Transport campers to hospital/clinic for care and evaluations as necessary
- Communicate status of sick campers with parents and the main office
- On-call around clock during your stay
- Must arrive to camp Saturday afternoon before scheduled session

Camp Counselor- Greet campers and parents when they check-in on Sunday
- Develop caring relationships with campers
- Supervise campers throughout the night
- Enforce “lights out” policies and other rules
- Assist with recreational programming

Recreation DirectorThe Recreation Director is responsible for planning enjoyable and safe activities for all campers and directing camp staff in implementing these activities. He/she will:
- Schedule and supervise waterfront, ropes course, bungee trampoline and arts and crafts staff for afternoon activities.
- Plan and promote evening activities and special events with assistance from counselors.
- Manage and maintain recreational equipment and supplies. For the above positions, shared housing, meals and recreational opportunities are provided. Full or partial summer work available. Pay negotiable.

Mom And Dad- Camp Counselor
- Greet campers and parents upon arrival
- Give overall care to junior or senior campers in the cabin during the nighttime hours
- Care for campers with special needs (homesickness, etc.)
- Prepare campers for scheduled activities
- Assist with the following recreational activities
- Camp Store Helper
- Serve food items such as; soda, pizza and ice cream under direction of store cashiers
- General cleaning of store
- Assist campers and parents with purchases
- Keep store orderly/attractive
- Work approximately 6 hours daily
- Housekeeping Staff
- Assist the Housekeeping Manager with cleaning and disinfecting the bathrooms
- Daily cleaning of Camp Store
- Sweeping and/or vacuuming hallways and stairwells
- Removing trash from cabin areas
- Changing linens in lodge rooms
- Office Assistant
- Answer phones, record messages and direct calls to appropriate staff
- Greet and answer questions from parents, campers and staff
- Organize and distribute camper, office and staff mail.
- Assist the Office Manager and office staff with miscellaneous projects
- Assist with Sunday registration
- Assist with Lost and Found procedures
- Kitchen Assistants
- Assisting cook in managing student staff (ages 14-17 years)
- Working in kitchen 3 meals per day (8-9 hours daily)
- Serving food to campers and staff
- Washing dishes
- Cleaning cafeteria- wiping down tables, sweeping floors

Work/Study ProgramThis program is designed for youth ages 14-17. Participants contribute work to Lake Owen in exchange for a reduced camp fee ($225 per week). Applicants must submit a completed registration form, and a check for $250 with their application. If a student’s attendance at Lake Owen is contingent on their acceptance to the program, and this is indicated on their application, then their $250 registration fee will be returned if they are not accepted. Deadline for applications is February 23, 2008. Work/Study students:
- Serve food in cafeteria or one of our 2 grills.
- General cleaning of grills and cafeteria.
- Dish washing.
- Gym cleaning
- Work the length of the summer to maintain cleanliness in all cabins/sleeping quarters and washrooms for the purpose of health, safety and enjoyment of all campers and staff.
- Oversee a staff of three to four to assist you with the following daily duties: cleaning and disinfecting bathrooms (sinks, floors, shower stalls, countertops, faucets, toilet stalls and toilets), wiping out cubbies, cleaning mirrors and windows, sweeping and mopping floors, stairways and entries, and taking out trash. Saturdays after campers leave and before new campers arrive are busy deep-cleaning days.
